Meet Marcia
I'm Marcia, the breeder behind Cottage Farm Aussies in Tekonsha, Michigan. We're a small, family breeder, we own our dams and sires, and every puppy is whelped right here in our home under our watchful eye.
Our love of animals has shaped our whole lives. We've learned that when you care for a dog through its lifetime, it gives back comfort, loyalty, and joy in return. After more than a decade of owning, rescuing, and rehoming Australian Shepherds, we set out to breed thoughtfully, choosing our lines with care and raising puppies that become incredible, steady companions.
Our farm sits on a quiet stretch of Michigan countryside where the pups grow up alongside our own kids, farm animals, and the everyday rhythm of rural life. That mix of open space, structure, and constant company is exactly the foundation a working breed like the Aussie needs to grow into a confident, well-mannered family member.

Our Promise
Our goal is simple: genetically clear dogs with great conformation and wonderful dispositions, raised to thrive in their new homes from day one.
We select our mates carefully and use genetic charting to maximize healthy results. We breed only purposefully, using line breeding to strengthen our lineage.
Whelped in our home with biosensor (ENS) work, our pups meet children, adults, and other animals, and experience loud noises, car rides, fireworks, and everyday chaos, so they grow up confident and tolerant.
We breed in small batches when interest is at its peak, to preserve the integrity of our dogs and our program, and to give every family our full attention.

Our Dam
A gentle-natured, third-generation Cottage Farm Australian Shepherd. Rocky has a wonderful disposition, lovely conformation, and loves everyone she meets, a super sweet girl who wags her tail like a pinwheel.
Our Sire
Meet Dusty, papa of our expected September litter with Rocky. We’re looking forward to welcoming their puppies at the end of September 2026.
